How pinacos makes flexible working hours possible

Everyone needs boundaries. Learn how to set them with pinacos and never lose your focus.

To succeed with more flexibility

Time-shifted, i.e. asynchronous, work is no longer the preserve of a small minority. In fact, it is now essential for the success of you and your colleagues - a workforce that has to attend daily or weekly status meetings suffers more than it gains from it. Status updates via asynchronous channels can help. Employees feel more comfortable when they can present proposals early in an asynchronous environment - the pressure of having to present something ready-made is removed. Here are four of our tips to help you collaborate on pinacos.

1. Let your colleagues know when you are off work

Breaking away from strict daily routines and working on a flexible schedule instead can be a very liberating experience. For this to work, your colleagues need to know when you are available - or not. With pinacos, this is easy. As soon as you are logged into the system, you are shown as online to other users. Only then can they call you and only then will you receive notifications. Your colleagues can still send you chat messages and notify you of documents. But if you are not online, you have peace of mind.

2. Get feedback without a meeting

Getting feedback or a second opinion before passing something on usually results in a meeting. But with pinacos, that's a thing of the past. Just get feedback with the document annotator so that everyone can take a look at it at a time that suits them best - without interfering with the decision-making process. So, as soon as you are ready to show your work, notify your colleagues with the 'Notify user' function or with a short chat message. Once everyone has given their feedback, you can incorporate it. And all this without the additional time burden of a meeting.

3. Use the calendar to your advantage

The calendar function is a tool that is easy to underestimate. In reality, it helps you keep track of important deadlines and appointments. Having an overview of your own schedule is crucial for a successful yet healthy relationship with work. Missing something important can have a devastating effect on your self-esteem. Letting others know when you are available (or not) is another highlight of the calendar. If you are busy, colleagues are less likely to contact you and distract you.

4. Move informal meetings to pinacos

Daily meetings can help the team coordinate work better - but you don't really need a formal meeting for that. By moving the information that needs to be shared to pinacos, users can access it wherever they are. There is more than one way to do this on pinacos. For example, it is enough to provide a document where anyone can write an annotation. These annotations are shown to the other team members in real time. Everyone can work at their own pace and the information is safe and secure on pinacos.
